Description
Shiro Miso, also known as white miso, is pale in colour and extremely popular because its salty flavour is softened by delicate sweet notes. The seasoning paste is made from soybeans and husked rice and is creamy and soft in texture.
Shiro Miso is ideal for dishes such as soups, stews, sauces, dressings and purees. It also tastes delicious as a spread in grilled sandwiches or on toast slices.
Note: The darker the miso, the longer the fermentation time and therefore the more intense the taste. If Shiro Miso is too mild for you, then you should try a darker miso like Hatcho Miso.
