Description
The grapes for this wine thrive at elevations ranging from 180 to 280 meters above sea level, rooted in diverse yet limestone-rich and stony soils. Impressively, the vines boast an average age of 33 years. Typically, harvest occurs in mid-September, followed by fermentation in steel tanks. Subsequently, the wine undergoes ageing for approximately 12 months, partly in large Slavonian oak barrels and French barriques.
A wonderfully balanced Valpolicella, thanks to the ripe grapes, which impart typical cherry notes and subtle herbal aromas when poured into the glass. There's also a hint of spiciness and brushwood. On the palate, it's juicy and full-bodied, with a pleasing acidity. The tannins, tightly woven and ripe, contribute to a well-structured and balanced wine with a touch of elegance. It's a wine of considerable substance. With its inherent freshness, it impresses even in its youth, though it will undoubtedly benefit from further ageing.
This wine serves as an exemplary representation of classic Valpolicella at a remarkably high standard. It's no surprise that such excellence hails from Allegrini.
